Beginning a team

Three weeks ago I talked with some coworkers about starting a soccer training since it is a sport that we like. We start the training at 7 a.m. twice a week. We new that it was going to be a challenge due to the time of training and the kind of work out was in mind. All this to start improving the skills and the qualities a soccer player needs and eventually make a soccer team.

Strength

Since a team in a soccer game can only substitute three players per game, the rest of the players must be able to play the 90 minutes which requires a great strength. Therefore, a good work out that develops this ability is needed.

Great exercises to improve your strength are the plyometric drills.

Different plyometrics drills have been  part of the main work out during the days of training.

We have also state the following: "The ultimate exercise to improve your endurance to be a good soccer player is running. Run at least three miles per day; for days a week besides other exercises like squats and lunges."

Speed ladder drills

Even though soccer is 90 minutes game, speed is crucial element that any soccer player must have in order to be competent in a game. Quickness is in any plays that lead to a goal therefore practicing some of the basic speed ladder drills will improve your agility.

This is the ladder that you can purchase at any sports shop.

At the beginning of the exercises with this ladder, it seemed difficult to do them since it requires a good coordination of both feet with the movements of the arms.  For a couple of weeks have been focused only on the technique of the exercises and not on the quickness that the exercise requires.
